Photography at the Henkel production facilities
Henkel is a chemical and industrial corporation that combines innovations and makes adhesive technologies, cleaning agents and detergents, and cosmetics.
In Russia, there are five branches of Henkel Rus LLC, five branches of Henkel Bautechnik LLC, and many regional offices. Henkel’s products are known worldwide under the brands Persil, Pril, Fa, Taft, Schwarzkopf, Makroflex, Ceresit, and dozens of other popular brands. In total, Henkel employs 52,000 persons, and more than 2,500 employees work in Russian divisions. As of March 2020, the branch in Noginsk district is the second largest in terms of the area and the only producer of Henkel cosmetics in Russia in the world. Therefore, finished products are shipped to all regions of Russia and to the CIS countries.
In January 2020, Line Artworks studio photographed production at Henkel Noginsk branch. We were asked to make photographs without overloading them with corporate accents for the company’s international digest. The decision to include into the digest the photographs we had made was taken in the headquarters in Germany.
Henkel Noginsk is a large plant with an in-house research laboratory and a complex of production and storage areas. To convey the atmosphere of modern production, we decided to take photographs of overall views of the enterprise and make detailed pictures of individual units of machinery and lines.
Safety of production and labor safety are the strategic goals of the corporation. The production area is utterly clean. Before photography, we were given snow-white robes, boot covers, and hairnets. Our photographer was personally given a beautiful beard cap. Dressed like that, we spent the whole day of work.
Through the photographs, we tried to convey a feeling of safety and complete control over complex chemical processes and technological operations. For example, we took photos of aerosol filling lines. We saw well-maintained mechanisms and high-tech management and control systems make the main motto of the corporation in labor protection come true: “Zero Accidents at Work”.
