Design of a calendar for the Pulkovo Airport
Developing and implementing the concept of an exquisite annual calendar devoted to the opening of a terminal in the Pulkovo Airport.
Pulkovo is the fourth largest airport in Russia, after the Moscow air hub, in terms of the number of passengers. The airport code is LED1. It was assigned to the airport when the city was called Leningrad, survived the Soviet times, and remains the same today. About 4,000 employees work at the airport. Since 2010, the airport has been managed by LLC Northern Capital Gateway based on a public-private partnership agreement.
We faced the need to develop and implement the concept of an exquisite annual calendar devoted to the opening of a terminal in the Pulkovo Airport.
How can we draw attention to usual things? Show them unusually! We integrated the new terminal, airplanes, and aviation equipment into the recognizable scenery of the city.
The camera team spent an entire month at the airport photographing airplanes taking off and landing. They were trying to catch the proper view. Then we took photographs of the monuments and streets of St. Petersburg from a height of 15–20 meters so that the aircraft and the terminal blend harmoniously into the city landscapes.
It took over 2 months of hard work. As a result, unique photographs were created: the mighty Airbuses look so natural against the backdrop of historical buildings and monuments that the realism of the pictures was breathtaking.
